All Day Nature Into Silver Jewellery – Intermediate Class

Our All Day Nature Into Jewellery Class will give us the opportunity to explore different techniques to incorporate nature into our fine silver jewellery.

Some experience of working with metal clay is preferable before booking this All Day Nature Class.  Our Silver Jewellery Beginners Classes can be found in the Class Timetable.

This all day, 6-hour Class will give you the chance to immerse yourself in learning how to use natural items such as leaves, flowers, shells and fossils with metal clay and how to turn them into jewellery.

We will cover using silver paste on a leaf to turn into a pendant, turning natural items into moulds or texture sheets and then use them to make beautiful pieces of fine silver jewellery.  We will fire them and then learn how to polish and add a patina to enhance your finished piece.

The price includes 10g of silver clay, 20g of silver paste (and remainder to take home for future projects), a chain for your pendant and ear wires for your earrings (if making).  This is enough to make two to three pieces, depending on size.  More clay will be available to purchase on the day should you require more.

Please note that Latex gloves will be worn during this class – patina liquid is very smelly and you won’t want it on your hands!  Please let Sidmouth Craft Hub know if an alternative to Latex is required.

All materials and refreshments will be provided for the Class. There will be a break for an hour at lunch time.  Please bring your own lunch, or there is a pub, shops and cafes nearby if you prefer.  The Class will not continue during lunchtime to ensure that everyone has a proper break.
