Nature Silver Jewellery Workshop – Intermediate

  • Naomi Brookes Designs Courthouse Makers (above the Tiffin Box) West Street, Axminster United Kingdom (map)

This will be a chance to immerse yourself in learning how to use natural items such as leaves, flowers, shells and fossils with metal clay to turn them into items of jewellery. We will cover using silver paste on a leaf to turn into a pendant; turning natural items into moulds or texture sheets and then use them to make an item of jewellery. We will fire them and then learn how to polish and add a patina to enhance your finished piece.

The course includes 10g of silver clay, 10g silver clay paste, a chain for your pendant and ear wires for earrings (if making) – enough to make three to four pieces depending on size. More clay will be available to purchase on the day should you require more.

The workshop will last for 6 hours (Plus an hour for lunch)from 10am – 5pm November 16th.

Refreshments provided.

Some experience of working with silver clay is preferable (PMC or Art Clay), however not necessary.

Please note, latex gloves will be worn during this class – patina liquid is very smelly and you don’t want it on your hands! Please let the venue know if an alternative to latex is required.
